Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 2026-09-21

These terms govern every booking made with Ghuringfiring, whether on this website, over the phone or at our office. Please read them before you pay — paying a deposit means you accept them on behalf of everyone named on the booking.

In short

  • A booking is confirmed only once we have your deposit and have sent written confirmation.
  • The lead traveller accepts these terms for everyone named on the booking.
  • Valid travel documents are the traveller’s responsibility; we advise, but we cannot guarantee entry.

1. Who these terms are between

They are between Ghuringfiring and the person who makes a booking — the lead traveller — acting for everyone named on it. The lead traveller must be 18 or older, is responsible for passing on what we send to the rest of the party, and is responsible for paying the full amount due.

Using this website — browsing, enquiring or booking — means you accept these terms.

2. Making a booking

  • A booking is a request until we confirm it in writing with a booking reference. An automated payment receipt on its own is not a confirmation.
  • An unpaid booking is held for 24 hours. After that it is released without notice and the price is no longer guaranteed.
  • We may decline a booking — when a departure has filled, when a supplier withdraws availability, or when we cannot verify a traveller’s details. Anything you have paid is returned in full.
  • Check every name, date and passport number on your confirmation the day it arrives. Airlines and embassies charge to correct a name later, and some will not correct it at all.

3. Prices and payment

All prices are quoted in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) and include the taxes stated on your quotation. A price is held for you only once a deposit is received; until then it can move with an airline fare, a hotel rate or an exchange rate.

  • The deposit shown at checkout secures the booking. The balance is due by the date on your confirmation, normally 14 days before departure.
  • A booking whose balance is unpaid by that date may be cancelled, with the charges in our Refund & Cancellation Policy applying.
  • Payments are taken through licensed gateways and mobile wallets. Nobody from our team will ever ask you for a card PIN, an OTP or a wallet PIN — by phone, email or message.
  • A payment made into the personal account of an individual staff member is not a payment to us and cannot be credited to your booking.

4. Passports, visas and travel documents

Every traveller is responsible for holding the documents their journey requires: a passport valid for at least six months beyond the return date, the right visa, and any health certificate, vaccination record or permit the destination asks for. Some destinations — the Sundarbans and other protected areas among them — need permits applied for in advance from passport or NID details.

We advise on requirements to the best of our knowledge, but they change without notice and the final decision always belongs to the immigration authority concerned. Being refused boarding or entry is treated as a no-show under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

5. Visa processing services

Where we process a visa for you, we prepare and lodge your file and follow it up. We do not decide the outcome, and no agency can promise one. Processing times quoted by a mission are estimates, not commitments.

You are responsible for the truth of what you give us. A document that turns out to be false or altered ends our service immediately, with no refund.

6. Changes to a booking

  • Ask for a change in writing. We will do what we can, but a change depends on the supplier having availability and usually costs whatever they charge us, plus an amendment fee.
  • Moving a departure date within 15 days of travel is treated as a cancellation and a new booking.
  • We may make minor changes to an itinerary — a different hotel of the same standard, a reordered day, a different vessel of the same class — for operational, safety or weather reasons, and we tell you as soon as we know.
  • River and sea departures depend on water level, tide and weather. A sailing may be shortened, rerouted or rescheduled on the master’s decision, which is taken for safety and cannot be overruled by us.

7. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations by you, cancellations by us, cancellation charges and refund timelines are set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Behaviour on a trip

Travellers are expected to follow the instructions of guides, ship crew and site authorities, to respect local customs and dress codes, and not to put themselves or others at risk. The laws of the country you are in apply to you.

We may remove a traveller from a trip — with no refund, and at their own cost for onward travel — where their behaviour endangers others, breaks the law, or repeatedly disrupts the group. A parent or guardian is responsible for any traveller under 18.

9. Health, fitness and insurance

Tell us before you book about any medical condition, allergy, mobility limitation or pregnancy a trip needs to account for. Some activities — boat transfers, forest walks, hill routes — do not suit everyone, and vessels and remote sites carry nothing beyond basic first aid.

We strongly recommend travel insurance covering medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation and baggage for every traveller. For most international destinations it is also a visa requirement.

10. Our responsibility to you

We take reasonable care in choosing the hotels, vessels, airlines, transport operators and guides we work with, and we are responsible for arranging your booking properly.

Those suppliers run their own services under their own terms. We are not liable for loss, injury, delay or damage caused by a supplier's act or omission, by another traveller, or by an event outside our control such as weather, tide, strike, civil unrest or government action.

Where we are found liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the part of the booking concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Photographs taken on our trips

We sometimes photograph or film our trips and use the results in our brochures, on this website and on our social channels. Tell your guide, or write to us, if you would rather not appear, and we will not use images of you.

12. This website

  • The text, photographs, itineraries and design on this site belong to Ghuringfiring or to our licensors, and may not be copied or republished without permission.
  • We keep prices, availability and descriptions as accurate as we can, but an obvious error — a price posted with a missing digit, for instance — does not oblige us to honour it. If that happens we tell you before taking payment, and you may cancel with a full refund.
  • Links to other websites are offered for convenience; what is on them is neither ours nor our responsibility.

13. Your personal information

To arrange a booking we collect what a supplier, airline or mission needs — name, date of birth, passport details, contact details — and we pass it only to those parties, for that purpose. We do not sell your data.

Card details are handled by our payment gateway and are never stored on our systems. Ask us at any time for a copy of what we hold about you, or for it to be deleted where no legal or tax obligation requires us to keep it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, and the courts of Dhaka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

We would much rather settle a disagreement by talking to you first — please write to us before taking any other step.

15. Changes to these terms

We update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on the day you paid your deposit, and the date at the top of this page says when the published version last changed.
